I LOOK AT WHAT AMAZING FEATS OTHER ATHLETES ARE ACCOMPLISHING AND IT SPURS ME ON
My name is Jazmine, originally from British Columbia's Kootenays, and I'm a biologist deeply passionate about the environment. Growing up on a farm, I forged a profound connection with nature from an early age. Back then, I was known as "The Gazelle" for my athleticism, excelling in various sports throughout my youth. As I entered my twenties, I found my true calling in climbing and backcountry skiing, honing my endurance and mountain skills along the way. Running has always been my anchor, providing solace and strength. In 2022, I experienced a pivotal moment at Canyons 100k, marking a breakthrough in my journey as a professional trail runner for The North Face Team. My mission is to inspire others to embrace the outdoors, push their boundaries, and champion conservation and climate action.
My favorite training terrain is the Canadian Rockies, for the lifetime amounts of neverending alpine trails.
"The Courage to be Disliked" is a timeless book whose lessons ring in my ears, years after reading it. Pertinent to today's world, as we can all learn to choose how we react to unfortunate or challenging circumstances.
Peanut butter chocolate bars, apple cinnamon puree, chocolate recovery protein powder. I also love eating protein pancakes (made with the vanilla protein powder mix), fruit, yogurt, nut butter, and maple syrup drizzled on top after a race!
